I totally agree that teenagers at school should not be given smart phones to use. Firstly, due to the fact it distracts them from studying. Secondly, cyberbullying and cheating is becoming a reason for the usage of mobile phones. Students go to school for study. Their only focus should be on studying. If teenagers start using mobile phones at school they will lose their concentration on whatever is being taught. Instead of paying attention, they might be tempted to check their phones which results in decline in academic performance. Using cell phones at school should be prohibited strictly and the institute should implement policies to restrict phone usage during class time or in a certain area. Schools should teach children phone etiquette by setting clear guidelines. Kids at academy will start using applications such as Snapchat and TikTok which will distract them form their ultimate goal of getting good grades.
Besides this, in today’s time, there is numerous competition going on. Whether it is in fashion, studies or having the latest gadgets. If students carry their cell phones with them, the kids who are unable to buy a phone will feel deprived. In return, they will force their parents to buy them the latest phone version. Peer pressure will become common. Friends would provoke each other on buying phones. Show off will also become common as rich pupil tend to buy expensive and latest gadgets. management of phones and educational places contributes to cyberbullying and cheating. Kids will make fun of less privileged teenagers bringing their morale down. The most usual misuse of these devices is that children are encouraged to spread rumors or engage in harmful online behaviors. By using phones at school there is easy access to information which facilitates cheating ob exams, undermining the integrity of educational system.
In a nutshell, teenagers should not be admissible to use mobiles phones at school. With social media, games and messaging apps merely a tap away makes it easy for students to lose focus leading to lack of concentration. Or otherwise if school permits the usage of mobile phone then they should be able to use it responsibly.
