People have contrasted views toward collecting humanitarian help for foreign countries’ disadvantaged people. While there might be some problems regarding the management of these aids, I believe that it should not be denied, particularly by developed countries, since there are some solutions to prevent all negative issues.
On the one hand, it is a true concern that receiver countries might spend this aid in the wrong way. Firstly, it is likely that some governments cannot determine a proper plan for these help and lose all the opportunities to overcome difficulties. For instance, back in the early 2000s, after Bam’s earthquake in Iran, although several countries sent different equipment for suffering people, it was proven that those stuffs never received to whom they should. Secondly, some governments might spend international help for devil purposes. They might spend financial aid to purchase weapons or even to increase pressure on their own political opponents.
On the other hand, there are multiple ways that can make people confident about the destiny of their helps. Firstly, they can help poor countries not only through financial aids, but also through consulting about how they can manage their money. For instance, their governments can determine some expert individuals who can manage all aid that is going to be sent to other countries and make sure that this aid is going to be received by real needy people. Secondly, individuals can send their aid in other formats instead of money. For instance, they can pass foods, clothes or health-related products, especially for women or children.
In conclusion, I can understand why people are concerned about the way that their aid is going to be spent, but it seems to me that governments can take different actions, like determining some experts or changing the format of their help to goods to prevent negative consequences of financial aids.
