Society is divided into those who find it necessary for countries to provide international financial support on a moral basis while the other half contributes to the problem of this aid being misspent by the government that receives it. This issue may be caused by high corruption level inside the governmental institutions, which can be eradicated by raising awareness among the political majors’ graduating students on this theme as well as establishing independent committees.
The drawback of giving international aid lies within corrupted institutions, which are responsible for directing it on behalf of their citizens. Thus, populations of underdeveloped countries might not receive help presented by other states simply for the reason of having dishonest officials. This occurrence is current in my home country, which is in a state of war, and on this ground, the aids are allocated. Unfortunately, they are rarely accessible to Ukrainian citizens as the money gets stolen.
One possible solution for this problem is to educate future members of the government on the unethicalness of stealing from their own country and people. A new subject can be added to the course programs on this occasion. Republic of Italy may perform as an example, where such implementation has been quite efficient. Another way to ensure those, providing the aid, is to form independent expert committees. Those will check and take in reports to control aid usage. Consequently, there will be no room for deception.
As has been noted, giving international aid provokes opinion division among society. Percussions must be taken to defeat the raising problem of corruption inside governments, which commonly results in threatening the possibility of getting financial support for their country. It can be dealt with by improving outlook of politics graduates during their studies or setting up control on country receiving the aid.
