Band 7+: The amount of rubbish in our world is increasing at a rapid rate. Why is this happening? What can be done to reduce it?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Environment is considered an urgent problem in our modern world, partly attributed to the significant rise in rubbish discharged. The primary rationale behind this unfavorable progression lies in the ever-increasing development of human society, and its proactive measures in terms of warnings and regulations will be elaborated in this essay.

At the root of the problem mentioned is the prevalence of industrial processes and construction projects in the urbanization and industrialization era. Undoubtedly, factories and industrial areas are emitting a massive volume of trash annually, severely damaging the surroundings’ land and water reservoirs. To make matters worse, a fraction of this waste is untreated to maximize the profits of many businesses. Furthermore, domestic waste also plays a part in these unpleasant rises. This may be because when the financial conditions become more stable for the majority, the demand for people to shop could be pushed substantially, even without the necessary purposes. As a result, the amount of trash increases at an alarming rate.

To address the aforementioned problem, they should, first and foremost, be brought to the forth. To illustrate, environmental awareness of residents could be raised through educational campaigns illustrating the direct impacts of increased trash volume discarded on their well-being. That is people, naturally, begin to take action once their lives are suffered. To make the solution more effective, it is highly essential for authorities to impose stringent rules, as well as punitive measures on not only companies but also individuals who deliberately throw out rubbish illegally. In addition, initiatives related to trash recycling ought to be promoted widely to take advantage of this massive output, diminishing its detrimental effects on the environment.

In conclusion, the rise in trash amount can be ascribed to the production and consumption processes of the entire society. The solutions for this unwelcoming situation hinge on people’s awareness to take up environmentally-friendly measures and the enforcement of strict laws toward illegal behaviors.
