Band 6+: The best way for a country to prepare for the future is to invest resources in its young people.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

It is proposed that invest resources in the young is the best way for a nation to prepare for the future. While this initiative has some drawbacks, I am of the opinion that its positive implications are greater.

There are several reasons why some people believe that investing in young people is not pivotal at the moment, chief of which is the loss to the government funding. This can be seen in Vietnam, where the government has spent a lot of money on upgrading school facilities and developing education system, which has costed a lot of money of citizens’ taxes. They may thus find it unnecessary and impratical to investing in the youth at the present and believe that the government would rather spend money on solving current issues, which can provide citizens with better quality of life. However, if people realize that one of the best ways to solve the current problems is investing in young people, who may use their knowledge to develop methods to solve these problems, they may change their opinion and encourage this investment.

From my perspective, I believe that young people play an important role in developing the country in the future. When a nation allocates its resources towards its youth, the young can gain more skills and knowledge, laying a firm foundation for their future. This would therefore create a better quality labor force for the country in the future.Singapore, for instance, is gaining benefits from its investment in education system in the past, becoming one of the largest economy in Asia. In tandem with economics growth, investing in young people can also create a better society. Gaining more knowledge will make the young less likely to engage in illegal activities, which in turn, reducing the crime rates and improving the quality of social life. These benefits from investing resources in young people thereby facilitate for the development of the nation.

In conclusion, while investing resources might not bring benefits for the present, the potential contribution of young people for the country can help to develop the country in the future.

large companies should pay higher salaries to CEOs and executives compared to the other workers. To what extend do you agree or disagree ?

There is a view that CEOs and executives in large companies should be paid significantly more than ordinary workers. I completely disagree with this idea, as it leads to inequality, undermines employee motivation, and does not fairly reflect contributions to company success. One reason why excessively high executive pay is unjustified is that it creates […]

It is widely argued that governments should make higher education free so that every individual, regardless of their financial background, has the freedom to study further. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is argued that governments are responsible for free higher education for some underprivileged individuals. While this may work to a certain extent, I believe that governments should not be entirely free for every student. On the one hand, it is understandable why higher education should be free for every individual. Firstly, many underprivileged would […]
