I completely disagree with the idea that making drivers participant driving test annually is the most effective way to reduce traffic accidents. In my view, improving infrastructure and increasing public awareness would be more practical solutions.
One effective approach is to improve the infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists. For example, government could build additional lanes specifically designed for bicycles and pedestrians, allowing them to travel safely without in the same road with cars. This could encourage more people to choose these forms of transport and also reduce accidents. In addition, well-designed cycling and pedestrian roads could make people use private cars which would help tackle traffic-related problems later.
Another important measure is to increase public awareness and make individuals understand their responsibilities. Schools could educate students about road safety from an early age by teaching them how to behave suitably in the street. At the same time, governments could introduce stricter regulations and impose fines on drivers who ignore traffic rules. Driver training courses could benefit to vehicle maintenance, since badly maintained cars may create risks on the road. These measures could encourage safer behavior.
In conclusion, I strongly disagree that testing drivers every year is the most effective solution. A combination of better infrastructure, road-safety education, stricter regulations and improved driver training would be more effective way.
