Currently, while opponents hold the view that elevation of fuel expenses is the best way to solve global environmental issues, opponents and I argue otherwise. Thus, I believe that boosting the fuel costs has detrimental effects as the economic recession and the government should search for other options such as improving the public transportation systems.
To embark on, skyrocketing fuel costs will have a harmful effect on commuters and the country. To enumerate, if people commute to their work in cities every day via their cars and the cost increases, they can not afford it, and that will have a critical impact on their creativity and performance. For example, a plethora of Egyptian people commute to Cairo from the nearest cities every day using the public transportation system, which affects their mental and physical status and leads to economic stagnation. Hence, what can be said is that raising fuels expanses will never solve the problem, but it will make it worse.
Nevertheless, the authorities should enhance the public transportation system. To illustrate more, if public transportation means become more convenient and flexible, that will have a pivotal influence on commuters and their performance. A prime example of this is the Egyptian government, which is working on enhancing the public transportation system to be more affordable and comfortable for passengers. For that reason, the government plays an indispensable role in solving the environmental problem.
In conclusion, by providing the above-mentioned points, it can be reiterated that if the government boosts buses, metros and trains, this condition will decrease road congestion, reduce global warming and increase the country’s economy. Therefore, I am convinced that other alternative measures have to be introduced to tackle this situation.
