Schools encourage their students to participate in team sports to learn and grasp the values of cooperation. I agree with the statement as this can lead students to learn how to prioritize their goals and invoke gamesmanship and problem-solving abilities, thus leading students to learn how to respect one another and collectively work towards shared objectives. This eventually promotes building lasting friendships and the development of understanding communalism.
Benefits a part of team sports children learn to be made aware of their teams’ abilities giving them the benefit of prioritizing their objectives based on the collective strengths of each member. For instance, not every player in a football team can possess the potential to be a good striker or a goalkeeper, each player has their respective abilities and chooses their position accordingly. Moreover, this leads to socialising and familiarising with one another and building relationships.
As children grow up and mature they learn to understand their environments by observing and taking actions accordingly. This promotes the ability to problem-solve in times of crisis and healthy brain development. When a group of children playing football faces the adversity of almost losing to their opponents they are taught to change their strategies and work harmoniously towards achieving their target of winning the game through their efforts.
Eventually, winning in team sports brings joy to a group of people who reap the benefits of their hard work, giving birth to possibly lasting friendships. Communities are made similarly when people with shared interests and objectives gather and work as a team.
Conclusively, I stand by the learning values for children when engaged in team sports when schools teach them about cooperation.
