It is often argued that the amount of crime is declining in recent days than in the past due the availability of enhanced technology which has the ability to identify and prevent felony. In this essay, I disagree with the notion since the technology is widely accessible including criminals.
To embark on, the number of crimes nowadays is decreasing compared to the past due to the availability of advanced technology. To emphasise this, I disagree with this statement as this technology is available to the vast majority of audience which includes the criminals. This means criminals can use their technology to mislead the cops. For instance, through the help of hacking, the inspector’s technology can be hacked to prevent them from identifying crime. Thus, the improvements in technology is not the reason for the decline in crime.
Furthermore, some strict law was introduced by governments from a plethora of countries to reduce the amount of felony. To explicate, fines have been introduced for crimes such as drink and drive and driving bike without helmet which is one reason for the decline in crime. This shows that technology has less role in the reduction of crime. For instance, in India, night patrolling has become common throughout the years since it is an effective way of identifying and preventing crime.
In conclusion, I believe that the number of felony is decreasing nowadays due to the exponential growth of strict law such as night patrolling and fines for driving 2 wheelers without helmet. Technology is accessible to criminals as well as the police which makes it unreliable since it can be hacked by criminal which could mislead the cops
