Many country has established the death penalty as a punishment of severe crime such as murder. However, there are also other country forbidding it because they believe killing people can never be permitted regardless of how teribble a crime is in terms of morality. From my perspective, it seems to be ideal not to place the death penalty.
The death penalty can not contribute to make criminal guilty so that they can regret what they did. It is known that one of the roles of the death penalty is bring criminals to realize how awful hurting others is. However, once people die, they can never notice it and change their mind. From this point, it is more required to place a heavy punishment that makes criminals complement their sin, which can be regarded more effective to enhance their awereness toward serious crimes.
Additionally, there are a significant concern about misjudging of a defendant who are actually inoccent. If that happens, the person will be killed by an authority meaninglessly. It is evident that these kind of mistakes can never be permitted from the point of human rights. However, it is inevitable that misdecisions happen as long as judges are human.
In order to pervent the case that defendents would be killed because of being misunderstood and verified as guilt mistakenly, the death panishments should be banned.
To sum up, the death penalty are not always usefull to restrict people from commiting a serious crime such as a murder. Also, there is still possibility that the punishment are exercised by false accusations, which should not happen. Given these all, I believe the death punishment should be discontinued.
