In recent decades, there has been a controversy that death penalty is the most workable measure to mitigate criminal offenses. Meanwhile, some individuals believe the opposite, I agree with the foremost view.
Capital punishment can be considered no use to curb the violence for several reasons. The strongest argument is that no one in this world has any right to take one’s life because the right to live is the basic right of any human being, and everyone should comply and appreciate it. Moreover, sometimes criminals do not have enough mature awareness, leading to committing lawlessness. In this case, they should be given a chance to repent of their act and improve themselves instead of capital punishment. In addition, there have been situations in which innocent people face wrongful execution, contributing to they being lost freedom life and making residents lose faith in law and justice.
On the contrary, I believe that the death penalty is necessary to maintain order and security in society. Firstly, it is the strongest deterrent against crimes. This strict punishment make fear for offenders, and this is likely to contribute to tending to think of punishment they will get before committing lawlessness and may drop that idea. Moreover, it also assists individuals’ faith in judicial systems via showing the consequence of this act before citizen. Secondly, the government can save the expenses of national budget on maintenance of prisoners . Instead, this money can be spent for the development of nation including of education, medication or infrastructure.
To sum up, although capital punishment has some disadvantages, I believe that it is the best way to reduce crimes, saving the national expense and preventing other commit lawlessness.
