These days it has been argued that the death sentence is a just proper(suitable) penalty for the criminals. (Some people believe) It is widely believed that a convicted killer deserves the (same)alike as what he did to other people, while others argue that only God can decide to whom life should be given. From my point of view, the death penalty is a violation of human rights and should not be permitted in any cases.
To begin with, there are some positives of the death sentence as a punishment. For instance, the death penalty can considerably reduce the number of crimes due to criminals’ fear of death. The potential murder will take into account the future punishment and might give up on his horrific offence.
Conversely, a significant number of the disadvantages also take place. Firstly, the cost of the court’s error is boundless. Even a highly professional judge is capable of making mistakes. If a murder was identified mistakenly, this mistake could not be fixed and an innocent person would be killed. Secondly, the death sentence leaves no chance for remorse and regret. There is no opportunity for the criminal to repent and correct its life. Furthermore, murder as a punishment is still a murder, but just legally authorized.
To sum up, some people believe that the death sentence is a proper punishment for the criminal. In my opinion, this is an unacceptable type of penalty and does not differ from any other murder, that is punished by the law.
