In many countries, young people are finding it harder to get work. What do you think are the main causes of this? What effect might this have in future?
It is true that youth unemployment is growing among several countries. While various factors may lead to young individuals in need of jobs, it would be unrealistic to expect them to contribute to society.
Young people, usually including those aged 15-24 years, face a range of considerations, when finding jobs. Firstly, I imagine that the ministry of education has to consider whether a quality of education is high enough to encourage students to study, or they are just fulfilling their obligations. Secondly, governments have a responsibility to provide sufficient employment for everyone who is ready to work. Finally, they should not prioritize the employee’s appearance. For example, there are so many professionals wearing hijab and there are limitations that do not allow them to develop, as happened to me a year ago, and I had to abandon my working place altogether.
It seems to me that the person who is unable to find work can have huge impact on everyone around. Young man without a job cannot support himself, still less a marriage. Unemployed person does not contribute to society, because he has no opportunity, even though he has talent. This kind of impact might be continued with struggling financially, when people do not believe in themselves, and begin to be skeptical about everything. I think that such repeated effect gradually reduce peoples self-esteem, and the worst thing is that they become more cynical that they can change anything.
In conclusion, government should provide enough employment for every young individual, because without employment opportunities, they may struggle financially, and cannot contribute to the society.
