Rising back up to approximately 5200 shops in the following year, the figure for closures then remained quite stable, at around 5000 from 2016 to 2018. In contrast, openings exhibited a more modest decline, hovering around 4000 from 2015 to 2017, reaching a precise low of 3000 in 2018.
