Band 5+: The graph below shows the number of shops that closed and the number of new shops that opened in one country between 2011 and 2018.

The provided line chart represents how many stores were closed and opened from 2011 to 2018. Overall, as is observed, the statistics illustrate that the majority of the shops were closed almost every year except for 2011 and 2015.

Initially, opening stores presented a downward trend on average. In 2011, about 8500 shops opened while approximately 6200 outlets stopped running business. Following that, in 2012, the pattern of opened stores decreased to 4000 and it rose until 2014 again. Additionally, the index has plunged after 2014. Besides, it should be noted that the number has remained almost the same during 2015 and 2017. Lastly, 2018 year had the lowest indicator with 3000 openings only.

Regarding the condition of closures, it is noticeable that figure hit the rock bottom in 2015 with only under 1000 outlets stopped their business and the line displayed a V-shaped trend from 2014 to 2016. As for the other years, from 2011 to 2014, the statistic ranged from 6000 to 7000, for the latter part of the years, the pattern surged to over 5000 in 2016. Since then, it remained steady nearly 5000.
