It is argued that an increasing number of people with obesity is putting pressure on health care system because it needs to cope with health problems caused by obesity. Many people believe that the most appropriate solution for this problem is introducing more physical education lessons into school study programs. This essay fully agrees with this because, by implementing more sport classes, we can prevent the emergence of the problem in the future.
Overweight people suffer from many diseases such as high blood pressure, respiratory system problems, diabetes, etc. This leads to a great demand for special surgeries, appointments with popular doctors, and a growing amount of medicines. Therefore, this demand for medical treatments puts a huge strain on the health care system. For instance, the Ministry of Health Care of Kazakhstan published a financial report for 2024. It is noticeable that almost 30 percent of the allocated money was spent on diseases caused by obesity. Furthermore, a higher proportion of funds is planned to be distributed to it again in 2025.
The possible way of tackling this issue is introducing more physical education classes in schools. Students who grow up participating in many sport classes can build a habit from this. Even after finishing school, they are more likely to stay fit and healthy. For example, children who grew up in families with parents who do regular sport, or even Olympic champions, almost do not have problems with weight. Therefore, by adding more sport lessons, we can take advantage of building habits. Year by year, the number of people who need help with obesity will show a decrease.
In conclusion, the health care system is under pressure, as the number of overweight people who need special treatment is increasing. This problem can be solved by adding more sport hours to schools’ educational programs.
