It is a fact that people have realized how crucial biodiversity is because a growing number of species have started to face the risk of going extinct. However, there are several solutions that should be implemented immediately to resolve this problem.
Firstly, causing any harm to animals or plants should be heavily prohibited. As is well-known, while individuals tend to hunt down endangered animals as a hobby, there are those who cut down or pick up endangered plants as well, and these activities are quite detrimental to biodiversity. Hence, banning them would considerably mitigate the situation by protecting these species from humans. For example, in European countries, individuals that kill endangered species, especially bald eagles, are heavily punished by the law that has been recently accepted among these states. Consequently, according to recent research, the numbers of these kinds of animals have significantly increased in the region.
On the other hand, besides the restrictions, society should stop occupying the natural habitats of species that are likely to go extinct. Humankind is quite interested in expanding its settlements, and when this is done, people cause environments and ecosystems to be devastated. As a result, animals are obliged to abandon their natural environments, and they have to live under unsuitable conditions, which tremendously decreases their chances of survival. In numerous countries, for instance, boars have started to appear on highways due to a severe deforestation problem across the world, which has resulted in their deaths because of being run over by vehicles.
In conclusion, humanity has understood the importance of biodiversity as the extinction of many species has become more concerning throughout the years. Fortunately, there are some methods, which are implementing some restrictions on the interactions with animals and plants or limiting the expansion of settlements, to cope with the issue.
