Biodiversity has become a concern as the number of endangered species has increased throughout the recent decades. Since all living creatures depend on each other in their lives, saving different species should exercise special attention. There are several actions that need to be exploited to keep these organisms on the planet.
First, some changes are needed in the way we treat nature. One of the most harmful actions will be deforestation. By cutting trees, not only will we hurt the vegetation of that area, but also many animals will lose their habitats in this matter. The vast constructions in the northern jungles of Iran (Hirkani Jungles), have led to massive destruction of natural habitats. This has had a great impact on the living conditions of the ethnic species and it has been a threat for them.
Indiscriminate hunting is another problem that contributes to environmental degradation. Therefore, strict rules should be applied to tackle this issue. Also, endangered species need extra attention to prevent their extinction. The Persian leopard is an example of an endangered animal. In the past few years, some actions have been used to help this species. For instance, hunting remaining leopards is banned, and also they are under special supervision to control their breeding and increase the chance of birth. It should be noted that all the creatures are related to each other, and as a result, to save one, it is essential to look after their prey while having their predators under control as well. People tended to feed the stray dogs which are the leopard predators. So, we should be careful about the way we choose to help nature, and make sure we are not harming it more.
Overall, biodiversity is the key to keeping the balance in nature. For that to come true, humans need to pay more attention to their behavior toward nature. Moreover, notice the fact that all creatures have the right to live, so we cannot ruin their habitats or use them for our desires.
