As the pace of digital technology speeds up, there have been a number of controversial issues that call for the attention of us, in which a point of concern should be raised on the deployment of sophisticated fertilizers and advanced agricultural machinery, as some argue that this trend offers greater disadvantages for human health and the general public. Personally, I partly disagree with this suggestion based on some reasons that are explained in this essay.
On the one hand, adamant supporters of agricultural technological advancements have some reasons that can not be ignored. One of the most conspicuous ones is revolutionizing agriculture because this method plays a crucial role in enriching soil nutrients, guaranteeing greater yields at a stable level throughout the years regardless of the climatic impact. As for the supporters of the proposition, more emphasis should be laid on propelling food production to unprecedented levels, their principal account is that it will contributively boost economies by mitigating food shortages and bolster.
On the other hand, one might argue that the rise of heavy machinery and capital-intensive farming practices would endanger long-term repercussions on human health and community well-being due to the soil, food, and water sources contamination. For instance, researchers have indicated a strong correlation between the exposure of fertilizers and pesticides and the growing number of chronic health conditions and reproductive disorders in farming communities. It is evident that individuals in these agricultural areas may suffer from long-term health complications, which not only diminish their quality of life but also place a substantial burden on public healthcare systems.
From what has been discussed above, my conclusion is that this is a two-sided opinion, as this phenomenon can be beneficial or harmful. Therefore, a moderation and environmentally responsible approach to farming is urgently required to safeguard both public well-being and future agricultural viability.
