Band 6+: The increasing prevalence of remote work has led to a debate about its impact on community engagement. Some believe that remote work weakens social bonds and reduces participation in local activities. Others argue that it frees up time for individuals to contribute to their communities in more meaningful ways. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Many individuals believe that working through their devices have weakened social and local activities. Personally, i believe that both sides can serve different purposes, which varies from time to time; however i believe it’s more productive to work in person. The essay will be written for both views.

Straight forward, it’s more easier to communicate and less time consuming when workers are located in the same environment. When both individuals are located in a different environment, it’s extremely difficult to be on the same track. For instance, an employee may be outside the office and is working from home, the environment their colleague is in differs. Whenever there is a problem, not everyone in the workplace has that specific employee’s number, and if terrible news spread, it’s unreasonable to just contact them through their devices if the situation is specifically based on being solved in person.

In contrast, it helps the person to progress their healing without being pressured. It’s incredibley normal for people to catch diseases; therefore, to prevent that from spreading, the infected person must be iscolated until they are recovered. For example, we can take Covid-19 pandemic as an example, it was extremely dangerous to head outside frequently, so the majority of people had no other choice but to do remote work because they didn’t want to be sick.

In conclusion, I personally think doing less remote work is more professional and time efficient, unless there is a barrier, then it’s understandable for them to complete their tasks from outside the workplace.
