It has become increasingly pervasive in recent years for individuals to use the Internet as an exhaustive source of information and benefit from online opportunities. But all the information on the Internet isn’t reliable and, because of the increasing amount of use of the Internet by young people, governments should have an age limitation for accessing all websites.
The main reason for the unreliability of any article on the Internet is that anyone can have access to upload an article in the online applications or websites regardless of its intentions. For example, in websites like Wikipedia or Google, anyone has the ability to upload any subject or correct any content. Although the Internet is a great place for productivity and learning new things, not all of them are dependable.
However, with the advancement of technology, children are using smartphones from a young age. The latest research utilized almost eighty-eight percent of teenagers between 13 to 18 owned a smartphone in 2023. One of the ways is for governments and companies to state an age limitation for the use of websites by young people and make a verifying system for people who want to upload articles online. With this new strategy, online content can be controlled.
In conclusion, although the Internet is an immense source of useful information, we should control it and not rely on all of the articles we see.
