The maps illustrate the modifications made to the Art gallery ground floor from 2005 to present day.
Overall, the art gallery underwent a significant transformation with the introduction of new facilities for visitors as lift, ramp, vending machine and shop. Other notable changes include the replacing of an exhibition room with a temporary one and children’s area. However, all other exhibition rooms, stairs and entrance remained untouched.
In 2005, the art gallery had a relatively simple layout. The entrance was at the bottom, leading to a reception counter. To the left of the entrance, the fourth exhibition room was situated. The café was located on the top-right corner, while an office was situated below it. Three exhibition rooms occupied the opposite side of the building, while a staircase was located at the top.
By present day, several changes had been implemented. While the entrance has been remained unchanged, the reception counter has been relocated to the centre of the art gallery, improving the comfort of visitors. Whereas the three exhibition rooms have remained in the original positions, a lift has been installed next to the staircase, to enhance visitor comfort. Another notable change was the redevelopment of café into gallery shop, following by introducing a vending machine in the place of gallery office. Meanwhile, the fourth exhibition room have been reconstructed into the children’s area and temporary exhibition.
