Nowadays, it is argued that the mass media should take more notice of the community’s lives than the lives of celebrities. I totally disagree with this idea.
There are a variety of reasons why famous people’s private lives are always the top concern of the media. Firstly, most people are interested in knowing and getting new information about the lives and relationships of the celebrities they like. Besides that I do not think that the public would enjoy knowing the lives of somebody they don’t know. Secondly, the media can make a large profit on updating the celebrities’s secret information. These kinds of news gain a lot of attraction, through searches and views of readers.
Moreover, these celebrities deserve to be put in the spotlight because they already rely on the public and fame to earn money and build their fame. Hence, shifting attention to the ordinary people’s lives means a loss of their income on their part. For example, there are many influencers on social media such as Tiktok, they earn a large profit by their fame because they had a large number of invitations for cooperation in advertising on some brands. In addition, some celebrities are excellent examples of young people because of their great effort and achievements, that can inspire the youth and help them to develop themself. For instance, Ho Chi Minh, the first President of Vietnam, was the first person to find a way to rescue the nation, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. Nowadays, Uncle Ho’s photo is always hung in every classroom as a shining example for the younger generation to follow.
In conclusion, I believe that news about famous people should be focused on rather than those of ordinary people. That could give them more motivation to succeed and make readers satisfied with the things they want to read.
