In today’s world family structure has improved in order to be modern. To my mind it is mostly commendable development, however there is a drawback as well that needs to be discussed.
First of all people prefer having nuclear family rather than extend one. For instance, parents divide their income, attention, care between less children. So, they are able to approach their children individually which helps to grow educated and cultivated individual. In addition, each member is financially independent in modern families and this gives rise to quality of life. As an example, most of the time both parents work, whereas in the past, only men were expected to work. As a result, financial situation of the family is getting better.
Nevertheless, it is also worth noting that in modern families, everyone is likely to have their own world. What I mean by this is that each member of family has their own work, hobby, activities, colleagues, to name but a few. Consequently, they are not able to make enough time for their children which can result in spoiled, rebellious and isolated teenager in the future.
To sum up, having a modern family has its own positive effect on family member’s life, however the same things can not be said for children’s mental health.
