The number of obese individuals is growing across multitude regions which has given rise to various disease among society. While a number of factors contribute to this crisis, viable solutions can still be implemented to address it effectively.
One major contributing factor can be attributed to general diet that majority of people adopt. Not only have the ingredients quality of foods decreased, but people also choose foods that do not contain sufficient nutrients. For example, in Iran, It is common to eat rice and bread, so body’s needs would not meet as they are just high in carbohydrate and the lack of protein exacerbates the issue. Additionally, the prevalent advertisements in favour of junk foods can increase the inclination toward eating them. Advertisments encourge people to purchase foods such as ready and processed food. They use pleasurable images and say fruitful quotes, so people persuade to buy them.
To combat this crisis, a comprehensive and multifaceted approach is essential. Most significant soultion can be regulations passed by the governement to bann advertisements which prove to have negative impact on individual’s health. Furthermore, raising awareness among people cannot be overstated and this can be started at schools when children are as younge as 7 years old. This can prevent the wrong future diet choices and in long term the rate of obesity will be declined.
In conclusion, tackling the challenge of rising obesity in a society requires efforts. By implementing stricter enforcement measures and giving beneficial information about the importance of diet to citizens.
