The maps illustrate the layout of the town center of Islip between 2010 and 2015.

Overall, the town of Islip was completely transformed with new facilities being built and more housing being provided.

In 2010, there was a main road running from east to west across the center of Islip. The road was lined with two rows of stores. The northern side of the main road was a rural area. On the opposite side, there were two parallel housing areas. A school was located to the left of these accommodations, while a park stood on the right. Both the school and the park were connected to the main road by side roads.

Five years later, the most notable change was the construction of a highway circling the town. The main road was converted into a pedestrian precinct and the stores to the north of it were demolished. In their place, a bus stop and a parking lot were built with a newly constructed shopping mall in the middle. Near the shopping mall, there was also a new housing area, which can be accessed via a minor road from the divided highway. More accommodations were also built to the south of the pedestrian zone. The park was made smaller to make way for this development while the school on the left remained the same.
