Band 7+: The proportion of elderly people is increasing in many countries. Do you think this will be a positive or negative change?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

I think the aging population will negatively affect many countries because the population of working people will decrease and many people will have many difficulties living.

First of all, if elderly people boom, a lot of companies might have problems. Young people are significant for many countries because they have a lot of knowledge of computers and they have creative ideas for companies. For example, recently many people started using computers at school since elementary school. For that reason, numerous young people have enough computer skills for companies, and then in classes, students deal with problems that do not have definite answers. On the other hand, many elderly people are not good at computers and they do not have enough ideas for companies to improve more. Also, it is impossible to work a long time for elderly people because they do not have enough physical strength and people who are over 70 years old do not need to work because they are able to obtain essential minimum money from the country. Thus, if many elderly people work, many companies might not be able to make huge progress and people will not have enough employees in many countries.

Second, the money of the country will be used for facilities of elderly people and for them. Recently many older people have diseases like some people can not remember everythings, whereas their young family can not take care of elderly people. That is why facilities for elderly people are becoming popular and many countries are supplying money for facilities and personally. As a result, there is not enough money to use for other important areas, like healthy care.

For these reasons, I believe that the society of elderly people causes negative effects.
