There is a view that the governments are allocating considerable amounts of money for the renovation of buildings and it is argued that this money ought to be invested in new housing and road infrastructure. While there are some undeniable benefits of restoration of old buildings, I agree with the opinion that investing in modernizing road infrastructure and housing should be prioritized, since it benefits more people by improving their living conditions.
On the one hand, it could be argued that taking measures and funding the reconstruction and conservation of old buildings is essential as they represent our culture, history, and way of life that our ancestors lived by offering insights about them. Moreover, by renovating ancient houses, people are attracting more tourists, which means that they are making a living because of them, as they may serve as hostel for tourists. Take Bukhara as an example. The authority allocates millions of dollars annually so as to provide more utilities for tourists and maintaining old buildings in good conditions.
On the other hand, I am of the opinion that official bodies should allocate monetary for constructing new accommodation and road infrastructures, improving the quality of life of their citizens lead. By widening and paving the roads, authorities not only can lessen the number of car accidents but also reduce commuting hours. Similarly, by erecting accommodation that include cutting-edge appliances, governments can guarantee their inhabitants welfare and the longevity.
In conclusion, while some people believe that authorities should allocate money to the reconstruction of old buildings, as they provide essential insights about our history and culture, I reckon that official bodies should invest in improving the road and house infrastructure, ensuring the longevity and the quality of their citizens.
