It is crucial to redeem old buildings which have some historical movement attached with it for future generation’s. I partially agree with the statement that redemption of old properties in huge cities around the globe involves lot of expenditure. Whereas, amount can be used in development of other factors like housing and road development.
To start with, restoration of old buildings is much necessary thing as it shows the ancient heritage of particular area or city as well as showcase the bravery of their ancestors in past. Moreover, for restoration of particular building government must find some quotations first. So, that it can give rough amount of money that governments has to spend on the building. For instance, if government found a place where they can find significant amount of proof about ancient people and things than they can spend some money and after redemption of that palace it can be used as sight scene for the tourist which can help governments to produce extra revenue from it.
On the other hand, if amount to be spend is much more, than it would be better for governments to spend on development of the city. Additionally, in modern era, they are many well-skilled architectures who can expand the modern architecture as it comes with its own advantage. Firstly, it can accommodate more people as well as use less amount of building materials.
To summarize, the decision to preserve or demolish old buildings should be made after considering many factors’ if the old buildings can be used effectively or be made into tourist attractions or are giving a unique identity to a place, these should definitely be preserved. Only if a building is occupying a lot of space and is unfit to live in, it should be demolished.
