Nowadays, the majority of governments tend to secure the world’s cultural heritage and that is why they invest a lot in restoring historical buildings instead of constructing new houses and develop cities’ infrastructure. From my perspective, despite the excessively high importance of restoration of antique building, creating new places to live and improving the road and city facilities as well quite beneficial in rapidly changing environment.

On the one hand, old building are one of the valuable attributes of our cultural heritage and our history. Housing keeps sophisticated knowledge or how our ancestors lived before and keeps the overview on the antique ambience. It definitely needs large investment to be restored for our future generations to feel the history and true local vibe of the city. Moreover, every time period in history buries costless architectural trends and knowledge which we shall cherish and transfer to our future generations to know and educate. And investment in knowledge could not be underestimated.

Controversially, we are living in a rapidly changing and growing society which required immediate actions from the government to support its citizens well-being. Major cities attracts more and more people from remote and countryside towns to move in for higher salaries and higher life level. Hence, more housing is inquired to keep highly qualified workforce and provide decent working conditions. In addition, regardless of increasing trend on online working, in metapolicies many people still prefer net working in business centers what creates a huge amount of traffic congestions in rush hours. Thus, constant road development and road structure expansion is highly needed especially in capitals and major cities.

To sum up all above-mentioned, it is hard to argue the importance of historical housing and the necessity for investment for restoration. Nevertheless, there are other fields as road infrastructure and construction of new residental areas which also shall not be neglected. In my opinion, each government should wisely distribute funds to support both cultural and base interests of its citizens.
