Most of the children nowadays are building stronger bonds with their mobile phones than their physical toys. It is controversial that it is harmful for these ages to contact directly with these digital devices, or useful. I, along with others, reckon that the cons weighs more than the pros.
Some parent believe in the ability of their smartphones to develop their children skills. They install every new game, and keep following the facebook groups that focus on the digital educational games. Most of these gaming applications are beneficial and achieve stunning results on the cognitive level. Furthermore, a group of caregivers use different mobile applications to upgrade the motor activities and expose their children to more experiences in a safer digital environment than the real world. For instance, I read an article about a startup that develops a new virtual area for kids supported with different kinds of puzzels. It is monitored by artificial intelligence which is able to communicate in appropriate language with your boy or girl.
On the other hand, there are many voices that argue about the side effects of these technologies on the child. They support their claims with studies that explain the negative health implications of the excessive interaction with monitors as televisions and mobiles. These devices destroy eyes slowly and cause emotional eruptions that appears as repeatable aggressive episodes. Some kids could suffer from severe psychological longterm consequences like loneliness and shades of addiction. For example, a friend has suffered from his stubborn child whose determined to hurt himself if his father deprived him from his mobile phone. He decided to cut his sisters hand to show them how he has been feeling frustrated in the punishment period. It was a serious situation that could destroy a family.
In conclusion, technology is a double-edged weapon. Some applications are useful for our kids, but the overuse could cause put us in an inevitable predicament. Using them wisely is a must.
