The graph illustrates the amount of money that belonged to the British Police in 2017 and 2018. The table represents the source of money income, while the pie charts compare budget distribution in those years.
Overall, it is noticeable that the largest sum of money came from the National Government, whereas other sources like grants contributed the lowest amount. When salaries paid to officers and staff comprised the highest proportion, the lowest percentage was allocated for spending on technology in both years.
In 2017, out of categories of financial sources, 175.5 million pounds was provided by the National Government. That was almost twofold higher than that of local taxes and three times as much as other sources, 91.2 million and 38 million pounds respectively. By 2018, the figures slightly increased, and there was a change of around 13.5 million pounds in the total budget, from 304.7 million to 318.2 million pounds.
Regarding money spending, three-quarters of the total finances were distributed on wages in 2017; however, in the next year, the proportion dropped to 69%. Technology constituted only 9% in the first year before its figure rose to 14% in 2018. Spending on buildings and transport remained unchanged and made up 17% in both years.
