Accommodation accounts for 45% of the total spending in country A, while the proportion was lower in country B, at 35%, and country C, at 30% only. Next to accommodation, food was the most popular item on which students in country C spent 36% of their yearly budget. The figures for country A and country B were 22% and 28%, respectively.
For books, university students in country C spent 21% of the total grant, which was seven times higher than country A (3%). In terms of leisure, the percentage of expenditure in this category was almost the same in both countries A and B. On the other hand, others’ item was the least popular in country C, which accounts for only 1% of its national allowance, while the figures for countries A and B were 8% and 5%, respectively.
