The chart illustrates the quantity of owners of mobile phones and personal computers per 1,000 people in the year of 2003 in six countries – Chile, San Marino, France, Malaysia, New Zealand and Iceland. Overall, Iceland had the most mobile phones owners while Chile had the least, and the personal computers holdersrate of San Marino was the highest whereas the Chile and Malaysia the lowest.
As seen, in Chile, San Marino and France, the number of personal computers were higher than mobile phones. Obviously, San Marino saw the most dramatical difference, where the number of personal computers reached 720 but mobile phones only 100. In contrast, the difference of Chile was much smaller with 100 personal computers and 50 mobile phones per 1,000 people. Additionally, France had 200 mobile phones and 300 computers, whose difference was mediate among the three countries.
On the other hand, there were more phones than computers in the other three countries. Iceland, noticeably, had the biggest difference, which had 900 mobile phones and 400 computers. That meant almost everyone in Iceland had their own phones. Apart from that, Malaysia had the smallest number both of phones and of computers at 250 and 100, respectively. Besides, among 1,000 people in New Zealand, 550 of them had mobile phones and 350 had computers.
