Nowadays, children spend their leisure time in various ways, particularly through technology. While there are some advantages to this trend, they are outweighed by the drawbacks, such as health risks and other concerns.
One advantage of children using technology in their free time is that it allows them to discover new skills. When children engage in activities like painting, music programs, and creating story applications, they showcase their talents. Therefore, in today’s world, the use of modern technology gives children the opportunity to utilize important skills effectively. Additionally, this exposure will help them navigate technology-related challenges in the future.
In my opinion, however, the downsides of using technology significantly outweigh the benefits. One major disadvantage is the amount of time children can spend on these devices. Consequently, they may neglect their responsibilities or other beneficial activities. Furthermore, excessive use of technology can lead to deterioration in eyesight since they are often glued to screens. Moreover, these devices can contribute to a sedentary lifestyle, which may result in overweight issues among children.
In conclusion, while there are some positives associated with using technology in children’s free time—such as discovering new skills and accessing vital resources—the negatives are more pronounced. These include time wasted and various health-related problems.
