Band 6+: The working week should be shorter and workers should have a longer weekend Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

The longevity of a working week should be decreased and workers ought to have a right for a longer weekend. This claim is widely argued among our current generation. Some say it’s a must to have a weekend lasting at least 3 days ,other individuals stick to the point that everything is proper arranged and there is no need to extend it. There are a host of countries which rely on one of the widespread views.

To begin with the one widespread point of view, the week has to be much shorter. This opinion gradually becomes more prevalent. Such individuals confidently claim that we are not robots ,and working for hours 7 days a week is insane. People get exhausted, come home ,and eventually throw themselves on a soft sofa. This behaviour is caused by work overload, in addition to stress and family problems. Furthermore, we struggle financially day by day. Tiring ourselves that much without even getting rudimentary needs for surviving is not a justice. Hence, they insist on shrinking the working days to redress ,at least partly, for all the drawbacks of our economies. That said, this in turn will correlate positively with our performance at our workplaces as well as boosting our mood and enhancing health and wellbeing.

Secondly, still in our modern world some people claim that the working week is perfectly in order, putting forward their compellingly eccentric arguments. Individuals having this worldwide tend to assert that we are humans and work is something that we must put up with. They say, something that started thousands of years ago can’t be altered easily ,and instead of decreasing the working week ,government must implement other benefits for mutual convenience. For instance, increasing the minimum wage, improving offices’ atmosphere, implementing new technology that will be used by staff, transforming more and more jobs to be online etc.

To conclude, various assertions are made on this topic, two of which are the most prevalent from my observation. Certainly,we must agree with the implementation of some advantages regarding working conditions suggested by the second group of individuals. But their worldview is undoubtedly argued among many. Whether the working week is to be shorter and workers are to have a right to an extended weekend or not;we must take into account the polices and culture of every single country. If so,the issue will be resolved accordingly for the benefit of its residents.

Some people believe that university students should be required to attend classes, while others think that students should be free to choose whether or not to attend.

There is an ongoing debate about whether attendance should be compulsory or students should be allowed to decide themselves. I strongly believe that demand for attendance in universities is essential, because it gives students a sense of responsibility and people become more social. Initially, with being obligatory, requirement for attendance in higher education institutions makes […]

In many countries, people like to eat a lot of food that cannot be grown in their local area. As a consequence, much of the food that people consume comes from other regions. Do the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages?

In the modern era, consumer demand in exotic produce has led to a heavy reliance on imported food.
