Dear Mayor and city authorities, I am writing to you due to the fact that I was informed about demolishing one of the oldest but impractical buildings in our town. I cannot stand destruction of the historical places, so I am a master’s degree student in the faculty of architecture and propose beneficial application of the old building, preserving it’s historical value.
It is a well-known fact that our town lacks tourists because of the narrow range of sightseeings. The old factory that is going to be destroyed could improve the situation, if we renovated it with new meanings and modern design. People love to visit places that contain a lot of historical evidence while providing them a space where they can take photos, work, relax after a long working day.
A great example of the realisation I have written about is GES-2 in the heart of the Moscow. Probably you have never heard about the hydroelectric power plant that was the main source of the electricity there in the beginning of the 20th century. After more than a century famous author with the fond “V-A-C” presented new application of the building. Now, it is the most popular center of culture in the capital of Russia. That approach demonstrated the wide range of benefits provided by that renovation as income generated by that center is more than enough to open new similar spaced to invest even more money and improve the city’s environment for locals.
I hope my idea with the evidence of opportunity to bring it to life will make impression on you and let me complete this project to alter the look of our city.
