Modern youth has a lot on their plates approaching to academic advancement. While some think the best is to focus only on academic subjects without being distracted by non-academic ones, I believe that educational success can be achieved with a combination of these two intergal parts of everybody’s learning development.
First and foremost, the full concentration on the academic subjects as maths, chemistry or physics, will narrow a person’s horrizon’s, For instance. if a student doesn’t have a chance to switch to arts, cookery or music, it would make their education one-sided with no opportunities to understand about other occupations and aspects of a life.
Secondly, limited options for studying can also lead to difficulties with the critical thinking development which is a result of academic and non-academic subjects’ combination. For example, I used to attend painting, dance and music classes at school that would make me realize my passion towards cultural journalism in the future. Thus, both of my academic skills related to writing, reading and analysing, went into mix with artistic ones. As a result, I gained invaluble broad knowledge highly useful in my profession.
Thirdly, when studying non-academic subjects, students have an opportunity to relax from an overwhelming tons of information they are required to process during academic work. In my view, doing some exersises during physical education can be a good solution for the brain to rest between coping with different tasks altogether.
All things considered, it is highly beneficial for children to have both academic and non-academic subjects in their programs. In my opinion, that will not only make them developed adults aware of many topics and activities but also help them to become strong individuals on the job market in the future.
