There is an ongoing debate that some people contend developed countries do not have any responsibility to help developing countries. However, there is a more compelling arguement that others argue sustainable aid should be needed because of global inequality and globalization.
On the one hand, several people claim that helping developing countries is not necessary because each countries need to care about domestic issues first. Although richer countries have a finacial stability they still have their own countries’ problem. For example, the States, where we think as most strong and wealthy country in the world, still struggled with drug problems. Therefore, even if the U.S.A has a extra money to support the others, it is better to spend their money to solve their own problems. Secondly, misuse of aid happened a lot through all over the world. To be specific, North Korea got aids several times from South Korea, however life as citizen of North Korea does not seems to be better than before.
While that argument is valid, I support the idea that a certain amount of aid is necessary. First of all, let us be honest, long times ago, richer countries could develope by dominating poorer countries. While they ruled colonies, they stole not only nature resources but also human resources. For instance, UK could become one of the strongest countries by estabilising the company in India. They could get huge land to build the manufactures and free employees as known as slaves. Therefore, I believe richer countires need to give certain level of aid as fixing the fault from the past. In addition, in the past, several countries developed their economics even they pollute the environment. However, the others can not do that anymore because of cognessive of environmental issues. It cannot be helped that every richer countires need to help the rulral one to protect the nature. Specifically, all of the countries becom globalized so we need to help each other countries.
However, it does not mean that developed countries cover all of the issues from developing countries. It is important to give sustainable aid such as bagic education and helth care system, so that poorer countries can stand up by themselves. Moreover, if it is conditional aid it can prevent the misuse of aid too.
In conclusion, while it is apparent that others insist that poorer countires need to develop by themselves, it is undeniable that all over the world needs to help each others.
