Band 7+: there is an increasing noise in many public places in cities. causes and solutions

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Nowadays, many cities are witnessing the problem of noise pollution. The problem is largely due to private ownership of vehicles and the increased construction work in cities; however, this issue can certainly be tackled with the help of government intervention.

The principal cause behind higher level of noise in cities can be attributed to greater vehicle ownership by people. This is because the inconvenience caused by public transportation, such as buses tardiness, compels individuals to purchase private vehicles. The more number of automobiles on the road would lead to a situation of traffic congestion, which is explicitly a great source of noise pollution.

Besides the private possession of vehicles, a rise in construction tasks in urban areas is also an important factor contributing to noise pollution. All countries, today, put considerable effort in the development of infrastructural facilities of its urban areas for the purpose of emerging out as industrialized nations. This development involves the usage of various equipments, which tend to generate a higher level of noise.

From my perspective, however, the above-mentioned issues can be solved effectively if the government gets more involved. Firstly, the officials should improve the effectiveness of public transport system, such as ensuring the punctuality of vehicles, along with launching campaigns and propagating information regarding the benefits of avoiding private vehicles. Secondly, although the noise produced by construction sites cannot be controlled completely, however the government can still put effort by the way of limiting the number of monthly construction or repairs of buildings in an area. This can definitely minimize the noise pollution to a significant extent.

To recapitulate, the urban centers are currently facing an acute problem of noise pollution, which is the result of increased personal possession of automobiles and the rise in work related to construction. In my opinion, this problem can be reduced to a large degree if the government takes concrete actions in the form of public awareness and restriction in the number of construction work.
