Teaching plays a key role in society, as teachers can shape individuals in positive ways. However, the desire to teach as a career has been decreasing in recent years. This essay aims to explore the reasons for this trend and how the issue can be addressed.
One of the main causes of this problem is that teachers’ salaries are lower than those of many other professions. Living in the modern world has a lot of cost. For example, an engineer with five years of experience earns more than a teacher with the same experience. The solution is for the government to raise teachers’ salaries, which would attract more people to the profession.
Another problem is that classrooms often have too many students. In other words, teachers must manage large numbers of pupils, causing teachers to leave the profession. To tackle this issue, school administrators should set logical limits on class sizes.
A third cause of the problem is that teachers often have workloads. Most teachers stay late at school. As a result, many feel tired and stressed, negatively affecting their lives. An effective strategy would be to reduce teachers’ working hours, making the job more manageable and appealing.
In conclusion, teaching has become a less popular profession in many countries due to reasons such as low salaries, long working hours, and large class sizes. In my view, the main responsibility for solving this issue with school administrators and governments.
