In the contemporary world, vast number of teachers prefer to not select secondary schools, and this number is rising. This problem is associated with small salaries which can be increased with government’s reaction.
To begin with, wage is one of the main reasons to work. In common, the wage is spent on an individual’s needs, entertainment and investments. Thus, high salary provides numerous benefits for workers by maintaining their life requirements. It is necessary to highlight that secondary schools are filled with many learners who are mostly children. Therefore, teacher’s job is complicated with various difficulties, such as inadequate behavior of students and stress, because kids tend to be noisy and big in numbers. As a consequence, educators are vulnerable to illness and low motivation to work. In that scenario, the low wage can not outweigh the drawbacks of teaching in secondary education, as it demands enormous amount of human resources, while not satisfying the salary that workers desire. For example, in Kazakhstan, the average wage of teachers is 350000 tenge, but the average wage overall is 400000 tenge, which makes it unattractive work choice.
Furthermore, the education is a major part of the development of a country. When it is not correctly taught from the beginning, the students from secondary schools may have no interest in science, which, in turn, has long term effects on a wide range of fields in country, leading to the stagnation of scientific breakthroughs. Of course, it is not influenced primarily by secondary schools, but the impact of unappreciation of teachers will mostly be like that. Taking into consideration all above, the government must stimulate the teaching fields by increasing the salaries or creating education programs for educators. A case in point is “with diploma to ayul” program in Kazakhstan which encourages young teachers to go to local areas, by raising the salary.
In conclusion, the drawbacks of being an educator can be solved by the government.
