In recent times, smartphones and the web are vital in the social processes in which individuals communicate with one another. This essay will discuss both the positive and negative effects, and provide the impact that exceeds the other.

To begin with, there are many positive impacts of the usage of phones and online network, which establishing new relationship with people around the global happens to be one. Utilization of the two items enable humans to explore and develop a good interpersonal relationships, enhance communication skill and career advancement. In Nigeria, most universities, encourage their students to purchase laptops, which in return aid them in socialization, research and assignments. These are the essential reasons of having handset and accessing the internet.

However, despite the advantages, there are still adverse effects of it on people. Gaining access to pornography is the demerit of utilizing handset and the cyper space. Watching of porn videos and images hinder the growth of mankind, impair the social health and lessen the concentration of individuals in developing skills. In Nigeria, adolescent, who have mobile phones watches pornography with it, which can results to addiction and spiritual deterioration of young youths. These are the reasons why utility of smartphones and web should be regulated.

In conclusion, though there are negative effects of utilization of mobile phones and internet such as exposure and addiction to pornography. The positive impacts which involves establishing new relationships, career development, research and enhancement of communication skill seem to outweigh the demerit. Purchase of smartphones and access to the internet should be encouraged due to its advantages over human socialization.
