In the era of globalization and technology, governments think that a country should eat harmless insects to support an uplifting population. However, some people believe that insects are unhealthy, and harvesting them will also negatively affect nature. There are both advantages and disadvantages to use edible insects.
On the one hand, it is noticeable that eating insects is uncomfortable for humans and their stomachs. Furthermore, we need to use many insects, roughly 1000 earthworms for lunch per person, because insects are smaller than domestic animals and have tiny weight. However, for some cultures, it is easy to use insects instead of food, such as meat and chicken. For instance, in China, many people can eat worms and ants because China has a high level of overpopulation. Moreover, if we harvest all types of insects, there will be negative effects like decreasing forests, because insects support trees and flowers that give oxygen for the world.
On the other hand, it is obvious that using insects has positive sides. Insects’ numbers are larger than other animals. It means that the countries can save domestic animals’ lives, such as cows, horses, and chickens. If all the world’s countries use insects for one year, the number of animals rises to 30 percent.
In conclusion, individuals should eat insects instead of domestic animals; however, countries should use a maximum of 1 year to increase animals.
