Nowadays, technology is becoming an essential part of education, and this has an effect on the ways of teaching. In this essay, I will clarify the primary changes that happened for this phenomena and argue that it has a positive impact in teaching methods and educational process, offering relative examples to support my stance.
One contributing factor to the use of technology in the modern educational environment is keeping up with development. In recent years, schools and universities have needed to present online education for their students for many reasons. For example, during COVID-19 pandemic many educational institutes depended on distance education to continue teaching their students. Consequently, the students could follow lecturers, connect with professors, and reach the subjects materials. If these institutes did not have these tools or could not deal with them, that might have caused many challenges.
Furthermore, the use of digital technology during classes can have an upside effect on students’ realising and recalling the information. For instance, teachers often use multimedia, like videos, games and e-books in classes, as a part of their teaching methods. The reason for this is that ways are more enjoyable, effective and interactive. In addition, empirical evidence has indicated that involving modern technology leads pupils to participate more in class and improve their skill through communication with their teachers and peers. In contrast, in traditional methods of education the teacher is the only speaker, explaining the subject, and students are just listeners.
In conclusion, the multitude of factors contributing to technology usage in teaching, coupled with the potential positive consequences such as effective and interactive teaching methods, reinforce my belief that this trend is a significant concern in contemporary education.
