In contemporary society, both women and men have full-time jobs. Therefore, it is a difficult issue for married couples to allocate household tasks. Some people believe that household duties should be shared equally. I strongly agree with this view point and I would like to delve into the reasons in this essay.
On the one hand, women should have more spare time for their own instead of spending all of their free time on doing chores. As we all know, married women have been regarded as ‘housewives’ for a long time since the ancient world. People tend to believe that women are born to deal with household tasks and can do them quite well. However, it is unequal for women to take responsibility for both full-time jobs and all the household duties. Women need their private time to do things that can make them feel relaxed. In this way, women won’t have too much burden to cope with.
On the other hand, it is beneficial for men to get involved in doing chores. There are so many men arguing that they are too tired to take part in household tasks. But their refusal to household duties will have detrimental impacts on their family relationships. If men could spend more time on household tasks and take the responsibility for undertaking a half of such household tasks like cleaning the floor and drying the washing, the bonds between their families would be strengthened.
In conclusion, sharing household tasks equally can benefit both women and men. Women can have more free time to relax themselves, while men can also get deeply involved in their families.
