Nowadays the number of people with excess weight are increasing dramatically than in many years ago. From my point of view, the major factors are related to the lifestyle of people have changed over the years and individuals have practiced poor dietary intake, while its significant effects include health problems and healthcare costs.
There are two main factors contribute to increase people’s weight such as lifestyle change and poor nutrition. First, maintaining a healthy lifestyle is a key to health. Many people nowadays spend most of their time working in the office and they do not have sufficient physical activities, especially they do not do exercise regularly, which cannot burn the calories accordingly. Second, eating nutritious food is also important to manage the body weight. However, many people tend to eat fast food and drink sugary drinks which contain high calories that contribute to gain weight and become obese.
Becoming overweight can lead to serious health problems and waste money spending on healthcare cost. The most significant problem of overweight is health problem. People living with high body weight is more likely to increase the risk of diabetes and high blood pressure. In addition to this, being overweight can have bad affect to quality of life as people will have poor performance and have difficulty in doing physical activities or movement. In term of financial management, people will spend much money on the treatment and healthcare, so they cannot effort to save money for their future plan.
In conclusion, an unhealthy lifestyle and poor dietary intake are the leading causes of the increasing number of people with overweight. This issue result in individuals’ serious health problem as well as increase the spending on treatment and health care.
