People have different views about whether getting married and starting family later in life is a positive or negative development. While this trend can create certain challenges, I believe that it is largely a positive development.
On the one hand, those who consider this is a negative development argue that delaying marriage and parenthood can create challenges. One of the main reasons is fertility usually declines with age particularly for women, which make it more difficult for couples to have children naturally. In such circumstances, some people may need medical assistance to start a family which can be expensive and stressful. For example, couples who postpone having children may face greater difficulties conceiving than those who have children at younger age. Similarly, conceiving later than usual also leads to decline in birth rates, leading to aging population and shrinking workforce in the future.
On the other hand, those who advocate getting married and starting families later argue that people can become more financial stable and emotionally prepared. The main for this is that young adults can spend more time completing their education and have a better stable career before taking on family responsibilities. By becoming financially independent and professional experience, people may be better prepared to provide a stable environment. For instance, a person who spends their twenties building a career may have stable income and sufficient savings for future making it easier to support a family.
In conclusion, although marrying and starting a family later can lead to certain biological challenges, the advantages of greater financial security, career development and emotional maturity offer greater benefits.
