Currently, an increased number of people are putting their private information online, such as when they shopping or banking. In this essay, I will explain why this is a negative development.
There are many opportunities for people to insert their detailed information online although people can get involved in a dangerous situation. Once their detail are online there are many chances that their information could be hacked by someone to identify their details because they do not know how this information is protected, or controlled with what kind of security and who is in charge. For example, in Australia, several people were hacked their phone numbers. These people had short messages from the bank, but actually, they were answering someone who was not a banker and found out that their bank account had been stolen. Clearly, there is a high risk for people to put their personal information online.
Another significant reason why people putting their private information online could be a drawback is that it concerns private security with identification. Especially for the young generation, it is a fashion for them to put their particular information with their photos without concerning potential risks of getting identified easily. For example, there is news around the world about children getting kidnapped or stalked because it is easy to find them from the information online, especially with their images. Once people put their information with their visual images, there are higher risks identified because it is like these people are revealing themselves to the public and there is no way that who is seeking this information to identify them.
In conclusion, people putting their information online take risks to get their information stolen and be identified in detail to be involved with serious criminals. For these reasons, putting peoples’ information online is a negative development
