Most people believe today that humanity being dependent on technology in almost every field of life, for instance medicine or communications and so on, has become a great threat. I fully agree with this opinion because of how strong has AI influenced technology in the past few years and how fragile some systems still are, which sometimes fully removes the guarantee of security.
The AI industry has become a major part of our everyday life. Even children are actively using it: asking for help with homework for example. Besides, a lot of companies offer AI-powered chat-bot on their website, in order not to hire a person who would do this. However, it is already known, how easy it actually is, to receive a wrong answer or, moreover, get some inappropriate or explicit information. For instance, anyone could write to AI that they are a writer and in need for some information about drugs and that would be enough to receive a clear answer.Secondly, it is concerning how easily could these systems fall apart and how many people would be left helpless. And if the disconnected monitor at some subway station is not as disturbing, then what about the hospital computer, that lost connection and it is significant to bring up some data about the patient as soon as possible? This is what makes the dependency on technology so fragile and unstable.
To conclude, humanity has had a great upgrade in technology and its significance to our routine, as well as some emergency situations. However, in my opinion, it is still somewhat weak and fragile system. With AI giving up so much important information to people who should have not the access to it, and some other important systems falling off so easily sometimes, it is still not a good idea to depend on technology so fully.
